It is not unusual for Multi-level Marketers to concentrate the bulk of their efforts on the activity of sponsoring new Associates, with little or no commitment to coaching any new recruits. This can result in minimal duplication within a team and low retention of Associates, so how can this balance be addressed to give every person in an organisation the best chance to develop and whos job is supporting the whole team?

The concept of concentrating your efforts on supporting a group, even if your own team is relatively limited could come across as being counter intuitive, but I ask you to put this feeling to the back of your mind whilst you explore the benefits of having a detailed coaching system in place that can provide support to everyone, not only distributors that you personally sponsor.

Each time a new downline member joins your downline, the first thing that must happen is for them to come to the realisation that they are part of something much more significant. If a distributor joins your organisation and is led to believe that they are going to be required to figure everything out on their own with only very basic advice and next to no support then they will more than likely begin with hardly no motivation and excitement. This could be one of the main reasons why drop out rates in the Multi-level Marketing industry are so significant.

It is often the case that you can’t always rely on every member in your organisation to give adequate coaching and support to keep a new rep engaged and prepared to input the necessary work and effort. This will be even more evident as your organisation becomes significantly bigger, which is why it is advantageous for you to accept the responsibility of coaching all Associates in your downline (or those that are willing to learn!).

If you learn from any of the Multi-level Marketing industry leaders then this is exactly what they encourage. Many of the top gurus not only take on the responsibility of supporting their own downline, but also assume the responsibility of supporting their subscribers who work for different organisations. The only way this can really be acomplished is by building a fully automated coaching system.

Note that you have a duty of care to everyone in your business, but if you also find ways to mentor other business builders not in your company then it is likely that they will feel they know and like you. Therefore there is also a high probability that they could make contact with you if they are unsupported in their current team and are willing to build another downline in a different company. This means that the outcome of taking the time to mentor other business builders can actually boost your ability to recruit new reps indirectly.

You might now be able to recognise the advantages of concentrating on developing a fully automated coaching strategy rather than concentrating on recruiting reps, so consider changing your focus now to boost your performance later.
